This exceptional 1955 Chris-Craft Cobra represents the pinnacle of American classic boat craftsmanship. With its iconic mahogany hull and period-correct Chrysler Hemi V-8 engine, this boat is a true collector's dream — recently restored to concours condition by master craftsmen in Annapolis, Maryland.
The Cobra series was Chris-Craft's answer to post-war American prosperity and speed culture. Only a handful of original examples remain in this condition worldwide. The gleaming varnished mahogany, chrome fittings, and original upholstery have all been meticulously maintained or professionally restored using period-correct materials and techniques.
She runs beautifully and is ready for the water today. Comes with custom matching trailer, full set of original documentation, and a professional survey completed in March 2026.
Originally delivered to a private buyer in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in the summer of 1955, this Cobra has had only four owners in its 70-year lifetime. The current owner acquired her in 2014 from a Connecticut estate and commissioned a full frame-up restoration in 2019–2021 by Wooden Boat Services of Annapolis, a nationally recognized classic boat restoration yard. She has since won Best in Class at the Chesapeake Bay Wooden Boat Festival (2022) and received the Judges' Award at the Lake Geneva Classic Boat Show (2023).
